WOTM
WOMEN OF THE
MOOSE
Dear Women of the Moose:

I have finally recovered enough from my surgeries to
get back involved with activities around the Lodge.
Thank you to everyone for wishing me well and for
the beautiful flowers and cards.  Special thanks to
all the ladies that kept things going in my absence,
especially Sharon for chairing all the meetings.
I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a great
holiday season!  Thanks to the ladies that helped
with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for our
members, the food was great.  Santa (John Finley)
and Mrs. Clause (Marion Cornett) and all Santa’s
helpers did a remarkable job again with the children’
s Christmas party!   What a wonderful time for more
than 50 children and their families!
Please check the calendar for upcoming events and
get out and support your Chapter/Lodge.  Please try
to attend the Chapter meetings in January and
February to help us plan upcoming special events.  I
look forward to seeing you there!
Happy New Year,

Senior Regent

***********************************************************

Dear Coworkers
Another year has come and gone and it’s now time
to start planning for our 2010-2011 Chapter year.
Ladies, in order to keep our Chapter going, we need
your help.  Unless we can get you to volunteer to run
for a Board position, one of our appointed positions,
or be a committee chairman, we will be unable to
sustain our Chapter for another year.
Every Women of the Moose Chapter has obligations
to our child city, Moosheart, and our city of
contentment, Moosehaven, which rely on our
contributions for their day-to-day operation.
Mooseheart cares for youth whose families are
unable, for a wide variety of reasons, to care for
them. Some have lost one or both parents; others
are living in environments that are simply not
conducive to healthy growth and development.
Whatever the reason, the men and women of the
Moose, through unparalleled generosity and
volunteerism, furnish the resources necessary to
care for children in need. The Moose fraternity
provides children with a wholesome home-like
environment and the best possible training and
education. Founded in 1922 by the Moose fraternal
organization, Moosehaven has provided thousands
of Moose members and their spouses with a secure,
relaxed, and enjoyable retirement experience.
Moosehaven residents enjoy their beautiful
community without the burdens of home
maintenance. Health care is comprehensive, and
transportation is readily available -- as are plenty of
social interaction and activities.
Your membership card entitles you to many benefits,
but it also comes with a commitment to support our
Chapter’s responsibilities to the children and
seniors depending on us.  Please consider offering
your time and efforts so that our Chapter can
continue to prosper for another year.  If  you can
volunteer, please contact any current board
member.
Thanks to those steadfast members who we can
always count on to get the job done.  Your untiring
enthusiasm and support is truly appreciated.
Our Ways and Means Committee is holding a
Valentine’s Dinner/Dance on February 13th.  Be sure
to get your tickets early to reserve a seat.  It’s going
to be a great time!
